BANQUET MANAGER

Magnolia St. Louis, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, was originally built in 1924 as the Mayfair Hotel by Charles Heiss and shines brightly as the crown jewel of downtown hospitality and sophistication. The Banquet Manager oversees the special event functions in the Hotel and may be directing multiple events at the same time.  The Manager ensures staff briefings are held prior to events taking place, works closely with the Kitchen during events, directs Captain, interacts with the event Host, and ensures a flawless special event for the guests. The Magnolia St. Louis has over 8,000 square feet of flexible meeting space and the Manager is responsible for seamless events including setting, servicing, and breakdown.

Some of the duties and responsibilities of the Banquet Manager position include:

Administer and manage the BEO components. Assign banquet captain and staff to the various duties of the special event function. Participate in all BEO meetings.  Ensure Captain is trained to provide the best guest service to clients.  Hold pre-event meeting with serving staff. Manage liquor and wine packages sold to the event.   Check on event and with Captain during event to ensure flawless service.

Some of the desired qualifications of the Banquet Manager position include:

Previous Captain or Management experience in a high-end, multi-function banquet operation. Ability to professionally and courteously interact with guests. Ability to multi-task with banquet assignments. Able to understand and manage a BEO. Physically able to perform the functions of the job. Basic knowledge of food sanitation; temperatures, holding, handling, and storage. Basic knowledge of wine service and able to become TIPS certified. Willing to serve alcoholic beverages.  Willing to be creative and motivated to stay on top of trends.
