The Accounting Assistant performs accounting duties related to the various areas of the Accounting Department such as AP, AR, bank audits, and reconciliations. The Accounting Assistant will interact with all departments in the Hotel, numerous Hotel Managers and employees plus guests and vendors. The Accounting Assistant is an important position to us as we want accuracy in our accounting statements, keep our guests and suppliers happy, and have our accounting questions answered quickly and accurately.
Other core duties and responsibilities of the Accounting Assistant position include:
Post necessary accounting data onto designated accounting programs. Take compilations of daily transactions from points of sale, invoices or receivables and post/balance as directed. Assist in month end closings as directed. Reconcile invoices, guest charges and receivables as necessary. Maintain confidentiality regarding financial statements, reports, guest information and other accounting information. Conduct cashier audits.
The desired qualifications we want for the Accounting Assistant include:
Experience with accounting or property management software programs. Cash and credit card balancing. AP and AR coding, bundling and processing. Inventory and other month end closing accounting functions.
