Food & Beverage Manager, Magnolia Hotel (Denver, CO)

The F&B Manager will be responsible for the operations of the Food & Beverage department, including the newly renovated “Harry’s”, one of downtown Denver’s favorite places to eat and drink, the wide array of special events in over 11,000 square feet of meeting space, and In Room Dining service.
Some duties and responsibilities of the F&B Manager include:
Overseeing all the Hotel’s F&B components in providing consistent quality service, quality products, and profitability are the over-arching objective of the F&B Manager. There are other highlights to the F&B Director’s duties and functions which include:
Assist in the revision and/or creation of menus for ala carte outlets, special events, and employee meals and make selections for the wine list, alcohol tiers, and beer when necessary. Ensure ServeSafe standards are consistently applied in all aspects of F&B operations. Assist with month end inventory and verify counts with Accounting personnel. Conduct daily walk through inspections of F&B operations verifying controls, quality, cleanliness, service standards, and security. Ensure front of the house train in all areas is being conducted. Work to develop and enhance training subjects and programs. Partner closely with Catering Sales in implementing Banquet Event Orders and other special events.
Some desired qualifications of the F&B Manager position include:
F&B department management experience in a Hotel or Resort operation or an upscale dining and/or club operation. Banquet/catering experience. Knowledge of BEOs and overseeing special event. Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with a broad cross-section of individuals. Knowledge of liquors, wines, wine service, beers, and the selling techniques and ability to pass knowledge on to staff. Basic accounting skills for conducting inventories, scheduling staff, cash controls, loss prevention, analyzing monthly P&L statements, pricing menus, food and alcohol. Good working knowledge of F&B POS systems. Experience in training front of the house staff in service, sales and POS usage. Basic bartending skills.
Some minimum qualifications of the F&B Manager position are:
Currently are, or able to become TIPS certified. Able to meet physical requirements of the position e.g., long periods of standing/walking, lifting and carrying, bending and pushing. Speak, read, write fluently in English.
