Our Maintenance Engineers are an important part of a team of employees who guarantee that our guests experience pure hospitality for the duration of their stay, and ensure their return.  They assist in the upkeep of our guest rooms, as well as the rest of our historical building in magnificent shape.  Each of our Maintenance Engineers plays a significant role in the Magnolia’s overall success, while also being able to showcase their craftsmanship, creativity, and pride reflected in their work.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The HVAC Technician is assigned to the Hotel’s Engineering Department and performs skilled technical work in the maintenance, repair, replacement and installation of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment, controls and distribution systems throughout the Hotel including the guest rooms, public spaces, kitchens, back of the house and ballroom.

Some duties and responsibilities of the HVAC Technician include:

Troubleshoots and repairs heating, air conditioning and refrigeration units throughout the hotel property include guest rooms, kitchens, and public spaces. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance inspections on various mechanical and electrical equipment in heating and cooling and ventilation systems. Cleans refrigerant systems evacuates and charges systems. Replaces wiring and electronic components, expansion valves, compressors, motors, coil units and other component parts. Investigates problems and performs repairs on various mechanical and electrical equipment in the hotel’s heating cooling and ventilation systems. Checks and changes air filters on a regularly scheduled basis. Complies with all EPA and OSHA regulations related to use of refrigerants, confined space, lock-out tag-out, etc. Maintains parts inventory for HVAC equipment and maintain section of Maintenance shop assigned to HVAC.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

Must be HVAC certified through a trade school, apprentice program or other accredited training program. Three years minimum HVAC experience in installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and correcting diverse HVAC issues. Have current EPA certification for use of refrigerants. Ability to work independently in a timely manner.
